Internships

Port of Hueneme regularly seeks motivated self-starters for intern positions to work with Port staff. Internships are paid positions.

Any interested community member may apply; we encourage students who are enrolled and in good standing in a challenging program leading to a certificate or degree in a business-related field.

A working knowledge of a foreign language is highly desirable as is computer literacy including knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Roles and responsibilities can include (but are not limited to): Engineering & Environmental Department support; administrative duties such as filing and document handling; website and other online support; assistance with Port programs including World Trade Center/Foreign Trade Zone administration; helping with community events such as the Port’s Maritime Advanced Systems & Technology (MAST) event and World Trade Week; and more.
