Economic Impact Report

The Port of Hueneme is one of the most productive and efficient commercial trade gateways for niche cargo on the West Coast. The Port consistently ranks among the top ten U.S. ports for automobiles and fresh produce. A pivotal component in the intermodal logistics supply chain, the Port of Hueneme is a major contributor to the economic health of Ventura County and Southern California. The following is a snapshot of the Port’s key economic contributions.

A data visualization from an economic report shows significant increases from 2013 to 2023: Jobs (144%), Tax Revenue (224%), Economic Activity (150%). The corresponding bar graphs effectively illustrate the growth in each category over the years, highlighting the substantial impact.

2023 – Updated Assessment Shows Port of Hueneme’s Economic Footprint Reaches All Time Highs in Ventura County

The Port of Hueneme leads Ventura County’s economic growth with 24,997 total trade-related jobs in 2022, an increase from 20,032 in 2020. In their newest economic study, the Port shows substantial increases in job creation, economic activity, tax revenue generated for local cities, and total economic activity.
