Port of Hueneme Celebrates Its 80th Birthday
The Port of Hueneme would like to thank our Customers, Community, Partners and Employees!
Over 80 years ago, Richard Bard, known as the “Father of the Port of Hueneme,” showed unwavering resolve in establishing a deep-sea harbor that would offer an enduring benefit to the citizens of Ventura County. He, along with a group of determined citizens, overcame tremendous odds to build the port that he believed would contribute to the growth and prosperity of the region.
Eight decades have proved Richard Bard and his tenacious supporters right. The Port of Hueneme has not only provided enduring value, but its founding values have endured. We are committed to our community — whether that is creating new business opportunities, fueling job creation, or protecting our environment. This 80th anniversary is a victory we share together with our long term business partners, who have been supporting the Port and are growing with us together.
As we celebrate the Port’s 80th birthday, we invite you to take a minute to celebrate with us, because we’ve done this together. Let’s hear it for eighty years of economic impact for our county, our state, and our nation. But most of all, let’s raise a cheer for all the good work that is to come.
“After eight decades of partnership and progress, we proudly celebrate our 80th birthday. We look forward to our continued partnerships to bring the next eight decades lasting success with job growth and environmental stewardship.”
