Austin joined the Port of Hueneme in 2014 and has an extensive career in both the Private and Public sectors. He has more than 25 years of experience working in a range of industries, including auditing, investment banking, manufacturing, and global logistics. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification as well. One of the Port of Hueneme’s most rewarding and impactful programs involves engagement with local youth and academia, and he decided to go a little further. He is a Lecturer on the business faculty at California State University Channel Islands, where he teaches Financial Accounting. Austin also serves on the board of several non-profit organizations including Oxnard College Foundation, Port Renovation, Inc., and Port of Hueneme Banana Festival, Inc.
