TWIC

The Transportation Worker Identification Credential, also known as TWIC, is required by the Maritime Transportation Security Act for workers who need access to secure and or restricted areas of the nation’s maritime facilities and vessels. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) conducts a security threat assessment (background check) to determine a person’s eligibility and issues the credential. Please use the below link for additional information regarding the TWIC and how to apply for a TWIC.

TWIC card and a valid purpose within the facility are required and will be verified at the Port’s entrance gate. TWIC cards should be carried by persons when they are inside the Port’s secure or restricted areas. Upon request, the TWIC card must be available for inspection.

TWIC Escorting

All persons who do not possess a TWIC may only enter the Port of Hueneme facilities with a Port of Hueneme approved TWIC escort. The Port has paid escort service providers including Channel Islands Logistics and Legend Logistics. For Port employees, operators and tenants requiring TWIC escort privileges, training classes are held via the Facility Security Officer at request and in alignment with the Port’s facility security plan and 33CFR101.514. An application to seek TWIC Escort privileges can be obtained via the Facility Security Officer or designee.

TWIC Renewal

TSA has initiated an online TWIC renewal process to help streamline the renewal process. Follow the link for online renewals: TWIC® Renewal | TSA Enrollment by IDEMIA (dhs.gov)
